LOCAL women tore up the runway last week as part of the Devonport Zonta Club's Fashion with Flair fundraiser.
The Zonta club organised the fashion fundraiser and was supported by local fashion houses including Shiraz Shoes, Total Look, Mystique, Bliss Boutique and Face Bar, which helped promote the event and provided clothing and accessories to be modelled on the night.
Zonta club member Susie Bowe said the evening was a sell-out and showed great fellowship of girls getting together to enjoy the night.
Organising committee member Margie Temple-Smith said they had been planning for the event since early in the year and while the organising committee had organised the finer details of the night, every member was involved in selling tickets and sourcing donations and prizes.
``It was a truly successful night and we received really positive feedback about the good fashions and the real women modelling them,'' she said.
Zonta members modelled a range of fashions for summer from casual to evening wear.
The fashion night was held at the Devonport Football Club to raise money for various women's causes within the local area.
In the past, money has been donated to assist refugee women who had recently moved to the local area, the women's refuge, breast cancer and research into ovarian cancer.
The Devonport Zonta Club meets on the first Thursday of every month at High Tide Restaurant.
